James's Passion
Raised in humble beginnings, he developed a deep passion for justice, equity, and service, which has guided his life’s work. He founded a food pantry in the 142nd, feeding families across the district to this day. His leadership has empowered countless individuals, ensuring their voices are heard in the fight for a more just and equitable society.
Beyond his advocacy work, James Joseph is a devoted HISD father and mentor, committed to inspiring the next generation of leaders. His passion for service extends beyond his professional role, as he also serves as an Associate Minister at Lyon Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Fifth Ward, Texas, where he provides spiritual guidance and community support.

James Joseph is also deeply involved in addressing critical health and environmental concerns in his community. As a member of the Community Advisory Committee for the Fifth Ward/Kashmere Gardens Cancer Cluster Cresol sites, he works alongside stakeholders to advocate for environmental justice and the well-being of affected families.
